How can we help?
Anchor is built and supported by Beau Schmitz. Email is the fastest way to get help. Please include the model of your iPhone, your iOS version, and a short description of what happened. Do not include private prayers, journal writing, or other sensitive information unless it is necessary to understand the issue.
Subscriptions and purchases
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open iOS Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Anchor, and select Cancel Subscription. Deleting Anchor does not cancel an active subscription.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Anchor and choose Restore Purchases from the paywall or subscription area in Settings. Make sure the device is signed in to the Apple ID that originally purchased the subscription.
How do I request a refund?
Apple handles App Store billing and refunds. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase.
Will deleting the app cancel my free trial?
No. Trials and subscriptions are connected to your Apple ID. Cancel through Apple subscription settings before the trial ends if you do not want it to renew.
Alarms and notifications
My Anchor alarm is not sounding.
Confirm that your anchor time and repeat days are enabled inside Anchor. Then check the app's notification and alarm permissions in iOS Settings. Focus modes, device volume, and system alarm settings may also affect what you hear.
An old Anchor alarm is still appearing.
Open Anchor, turn the alarm off, and then set it again. Anchor will reconcile previously scheduled alarms. If the issue continues, restart your iPhone and email support with the time the unexpected alarm appeared.
Why does Anchor ask for notification permission?
Anchor uses notifications to deliver the daily verse and rhythm reminders you choose. Permission is optional and can be changed at any time in iOS Settings.
Data, privacy, and saved images
Where are my journal entries and Bible notes stored?
Your journal writing, prayers, Bible notes, highlights, and reading progress are stored locally on your device. They may be included in an Apple-managed encrypted backup according to your iPhone and iCloud backup settings.
How do I delete my Anchor data?
Use Reset Anchor Data in Anchor Settings to erase the app's local state. You can also delete individual notes, annotations, favorites, and journal content using their in-app controls. Resetting or deleting data cannot be undone.
Why can I not save a daily verse image?
Open iOS Settings, find Anchor, and allow Add Photos Only access. Anchor needs this permission to place an exported verse image into your library.
How do I make a privacy request?
Email managementnanchor@gmail.com with the subject “Anchor Privacy Request.” Most personal writing remains only on your device, so Anchor generally cannot retrieve it from a server.
General troubleshooting
Anchor is not behaving as expected.
First close and reopen Anchor, then confirm that iOS is up to date. If the issue remains, restart your iPhone. Before reinstalling, remember that local data may be lost if it is not available in an Apple-managed backup.
What should I include in a bug report?
Include your iPhone model, iOS version, Anchor version, the screen you were using, what you expected, what happened, and whether the issue repeats. A screenshot is helpful when it does not contain sensitive information.
